International Conference on “Communication and Dissemination of Traditional Knowledge (CDTK)
The national initiative #SVASTIK (Scientifically Validated Societal Traditional Knowledge), was launched in August 2021 with the aim to conserve the practice of the right knowledge tradition, inculcate scientific temper and instil confidence in citizens regarding the scientific value of our traditional knowledge/practices. Under the #SVASTIK initiative, scientifically validated Indian TK/practices are being communicated to society through digital/print media in various Indian and foreign languages.
In continuation to these efforts, the International Conference on Communication and Dissemination of Traditional Knowledge (CDTK) is organised biennially under the umbrella of the SVASTIK initiative. CDTK-2023 was organised during 14-15 February 2023 at New Delhi while CDTK-2024 was organised by CSIR-NIScPR jointly in association with Gurugram University on 13-14 November 2024. Both the conferences witnessed a conglomeration of eminent experts and scholars working on documentation, validation, protection, and promotion of traditional knowledge.
CSIR-NIScPR is happy to announce the third International Conference on “Communication and Dissemination of Traditional Knowledge (CDTK-2026)” that envisages bringing together international/national experts and researchers working in various S&T areas including Indian systems of medicine, agriculture, Indian cuisine, metallurgy, architecture, mathematics, ecology & environment, education and other related areas of traditional knowledge as well as in TK communication and dissemination. Renowned experts, including scholars, practitioners, and cultural ambassadors, TK holders, and grass root innovators, are expected to share their insights and experiences, providing a deep dive into India's ancient knowledge systems and their potential applications in modern contexts
International Conference on “Aligning Science-Technology-Innovation (STI) Indicators for Effective R&D Governance” (14-15 January 2025)
CSIR-NIScPR organised an International Conference on 14–15 January 2025 to commemorate its 4th Foundation Day, bringing together distinguished national and international experts in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) policy. The conference focused on “Reimagining Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators” for effective R&D governance and development towards Viksit Bharat 2047, with discussions on inclusion, sustainability, performance evaluation, and innovation metrics. Eminent speakers, including Prof. Ashutosh Sharma and Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, along with experts from France, the Netherlands, Australia, South Africa, Russia, South Korea, and Armenia, participated in the deliberations.
